A Central Baseball League, erst a Texas-Louisiana League, occurs as minor league whose member teams are independent of any Major League Baseball affiliations. A todays commissioner of the league is Miles Wolff.
Within 1991, potential owners became disappointed that a Texas League had no plans to expand into more Texas locations, and formed A Texas-Louisiana League. A league began play within 1994. Fallowing farther expansion into Missouri and Mississippi, the Texas-Louisiana League changed its title to the Central Baseball League. Within eight seasons, a league has produced vii different champions. Lone Alexandria has won a title twice (1997 and 1998).
